Cagan Crossings Town Center welcomed 2 new restaurants this month expanding the amount of International Offerings offered to our residents and visitors. The Friar Tuck is a quant and traditional English cafe serving fresh, homemade and tasty treats from England including a full English breakfast and Sunday Roast! Also now open, Saffron Indian Restaurant offering a lunch buffet as well as dinner with traditional Indian cuisine such as butter chichken, chicken tandori, basmati rice, vegetable pakor and more. Town Center Landscape Revamp Begins
Cagan Crossings is pleased to announce a massive landscape overhaul for the Town Center. work began December 1st and will wrap up by the 2nd week in January. The entire Town Center Square has been "re-visioned" to make it more pedestrian friendly with shady trees and colorful ground cover. In addition to the Town Square, Cagan Crossings Blvd. as well as the main entrance will receive new tree plantings and new potted plants.

This marks the 6th anniversary of the very popular attraction, which grows in size (and in scariness!) every year. This year, the Haunted House will run from October 13th through October 31st. Orlando Cat Cafe Officially Opens
The Orlando Cat Cafe held its official Grand Opening on Thursday, September 8th. Scores of feline lovers attended the much anticipated opening. The Orlando Cat Cafe is a cozy coffeehouse with comfortable furniture, premium Axum coffee and delicious sandwiches and pastries. You an enjoy your food in the coffeehouse, or, for a small entry fee, you can bring your purchase into the Cat Play/Adoption Area where you will be greeted by cats and kittens all available for adoption. Hurricane Expo to Be Held at Cagan Crossings Community Library
The Lake County Emergency Management Division, in partnership with Orange, Osceola and Polk counties, is inviting residents to a free educational event to help citizens prepare for emergencies. Participants will receive tools and information about family preparedness plans, hurricans, shelters, emergency pet safety and more, and will have the opportunity to interact with first responders and emergency personnel.
The event will be held on Saturday, June 25th from 10 am until 1 pm at the Cagan Crossings Community Library, 16729 Cagan Oaks in Clermont.

Orlando Cat Cafe Begins Construction
The much anticipated Orlando Cat Cafe has begun construction. Plans have been approved by Lake County and the construction is expected to take approximately 12 weeks, making the target date for opening late August/early September. The Orlando Cat Cafe is a collaborative effort between Cagan Management Group, The Southlake Animal League and Axum Coffee and will be a place to prospective adoptive cat and kitten parents to meet and greet felines in a more relaxed atmosphere than typically afforded in a shelter environment. South Lake Hospital Expands to Four Corners
South Lake Hospital has announced expansion plans that include a new free-standing emergency department directly across the highway from Cagan Crossings. The new facility, which will be named the Joe H. and Loretta Scott Pavilion at Southlake will include a full-service emergency department staffed by board-certified physicians. The pavilion will also offer outpatient imaging, laboratory and rehabilitation services and has been designed to allow for more services to be added in the future. South Lake Hospital President John Moore stated that the new facility should be completed and open in late 2017.
Axum Coffee Joins Orlando Cat Cafe
The Orlando Cat Cafe is proud to announce that Axum Coffee of Winter Garden, FL has partnered with them to operate the Cafe. “Axum Coffee is the purrfect partner for us” quips Sandra Cagan, Founder of the Orlando Cat Café. Their vision statement really says it all – ‘Inspire people and generate resources to restore hope in hard places. We’re passionate about excellence in every cup and every opportunity to serve’.
Cagan met with owner Renaut Van Der Riet late last year to present her vision of the Cat Café and the two immediately clicked. “Axum has done so much good for people and this is a chance to expand that outreach to animals”. The two met with members of the Southlake Animal League just before the New Year and it was clear that the synergy of the group was overwhelmingly positive.
The Orlando Cat Café is scheduled to open in late Spring of 2016 and will include a cozy coffeehouse with comfortable furniture, premium coffee, and 12 to 15 cats roaming freely. But if you want to grab your coffee and go, that’s fine as well. The cat café will have its own entrance to comply with any health and food safety compliance guidelines. Between sips, customers will be able to pet and cuddle the critters at will. The area will consist of a 750 square foot cat lounge, a hidden room for litter boxes, with the separate space where Axum baristas prepare coffee and snacks. Plans to serve wine and beer are also in the works.

Cagan Crossing Wins Prestigious AAGO Award
Cagan Crossings recently won the prestigious Golden Key Award for Best Lease Up Community of the Year from the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando.
The awards dinner, which was held Saturday December 5th at the Hilton Orlando, recognized the newest neighborhood at Cagan Crossings, the 180 unit Glen 2 for Best Lease Up Community of the Year.
The annual gala event celebrates and recognizes those companies and individuals who have achieved the highest level of service and commitment to the apartment industry.
This is not the first honor for Cagan Crossings. The complex has won several Golden Key Awards for Property of the Year as well as Maintenance Supervisor of the Year and Porters of the Year.
Orlando Cat Cafe to Hold "Sneak Peek"
On Wednesday, October 14th the Orlando Cat Cafe, located in the Town Center at Cagan Crossings (right next to I Love New York Pizza and Pasta) will be holding a a Sneak Peak and Launch Party in an effort to kick off their fundraising campaign. The Orlando Cat Cafe has partnered with the Southlake Animal League, a "no-kill" shelter that has served Lake County and surrounding counties since 1988, to open a cozy coffee house and adoption center. The event will be open to the public from noon until 7 pm and will feature an inside look at the new space and architectural renderings along with adoptable cats from the South Lake Animal League, live music, food trucks, family fun activities and local artists. Learning Club Offers New Specials and Open House
The new Learning Club in the Town Center is pleased to announced their schedule for Spring Break Camp for K-5th Grade Students. Enroll by March 1, 2015 and they will waive their normal registration fee. Spring Break Camp is $125.00 for the week from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Children will have educational classes along with having fun. Space is limited so enroll now and save money. Payment is due upon enrollment for your space to be reserved. Registration Fee $35.00.
On March 20th the Learning Club will hold an OPEN HOUSE from 4 pm-8 pm. New York Life will be providng free Child ID's to children and their families. The Child ID provides a brief description of your child along with their picture and fingerprints so that in the case of an emergency, authorities can locate the child in a prompt manner.

The Southlake Art League will present Kids Spirited Easel Classes, Friday evenings, 5:00 - 6:30 pm. Register your budding artist for our kids class and have a wonderful 9 X 12 canvas board to take home to frame. Guns and Hoses Chili Cook Off - And the Winner Is.....
Cagan Crossings Farmer's Market hosted a Guns 'n Hoses Chili Cook Off between the Lake County Sheriff's Office and The Lake County Fire Rescue on Friday on, January 24th. Area restaurants and some of our own market vendors competed for bragging rights with their chili. The event raised over $1,500 which was donated to the winner -- The Lake County Sheriff's Office. Way to go Lake County Sherriff!!

Food Truck Fiesta at Cagan Crossings
Six Food Trucks representing diverse cuisines from Cupcakes to Caribbean Food descending upon Cagan Crossings, Thursday, may 2nd from 5-9 pm. The event, although plagued by inclement weather, drew over 250 Cagan Crossings and other area residents alike. Hungry people were treated to Mangia Italian Cuise, Curie's Sidewalk Cafe, Mr. Fred's Barbeque, Magic 4 UR Palate and Stay Calm Cupcakes. Sliced Steak Sandwiches, Crab Cakes, Bacon Cheeseburgers and Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwiches were just some of the delicious foods available.
Cagan Crossings Hosts American Cancer Society Relay for Life for Second Year
Cagan Crossings hosted the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life April 20th and 21st. 15 Teams and over 130 Participants raised over $37,000, twice as much as last year's event. This was the 2nd Time that Cagan Crossings has hosted the event. .

Cagan Crossings held their 4th Annual Winter Celebration on Friday. December 14th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Town Center at Cagan Crossings. Along with our regular Farmer's Market, there wasl a myriad of live holiday entertainment including Holiday Train Rides, dance performances by Starbound Performers Dance Team and music from Tru Legacy R&B Group. In addition, Southlake Art League hosted their very popular Paint an Ornament Class and Santa and Mrs. Claus made a special appearance at Simka's Sweets.

Cagan Crossings hosted the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life April 21st and 22nd. 15 Teams and over 130 Participants raised over $16,000. Despite less than optimal weather conditions, over 200 Luminaries were lit and 26 people attended the Survivor's Dinner, hosted by Gator's Dockside.

South Lake Art League Treasure Box Paint Party benefits Shriner's Hospital
On Saturday, January 14, a group of artists met at the Cagan Crossings Studio of the South Lake Art League to paint Treasure Boxes to bring a smile to the face of a sick child. Some of these “artists” had never painted before, but wanted to contribute to this special project. Instructor, Kathie Camara, provided the painting lesson. Once painted, the boxes were sealed by members of the Art League and a label was attached to the inside of the cover with the Treasure Box Artists name. Then the boxes were transported to one of the many Shriners Hospitals to be given to a child who is in the hospital due to chronic illness or surgery. The Shriners put small toys and trinkets inside the box for the children, and the kids will have a special treasure box to keep their belongings in, thanks to the generosity of a group of Treasure Box Artists who donate their time and talent to bring joy to a child. Cagan Crossings Residents Tour Lakeridge Winery!
On December 10th, several residents as well as staff members of Cagan Crossings toured Lakeridge Winery. A tour of the winery was held along with wine and chocolate tasting! Residents also enjoyed other food and drink options as well as a Craft Fair!
Open House at South Lake Art League Artist's Boutique
Come celebrate the holidays with the artisans at South Lake Art League’s Artist’s Boutique at Cagan Crossings. Join them on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The Open House, which takes place during Cagan’s Winter Celebration, will have refreshments, door prizes, and a craft event where you can paint or craft an ornament for a $2.00 donation.
Get acquainted with the artists and instructors, sign up for a class, and relax with them for the evening. Enjoy visiting the Boutique where local artisans display their work. This is their second year to be a part of this great community. You will find their art is expressed in many ways – including originals and prints of watercolors, oils, acrylics, hand-painted goose eggs and ornaments, hand carved gourds, fairy houses, pottery, jewelry that is one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted soap and candles, hand-knitted scarves along with many other holiday and home décor pieces. Cagan Crossings 3rd Annual Winter Celebration

Spooktactular Halloween at Cagan Crossings
Cagan Crossings hosted three Spooktactular Events this month - our 1st Ever Terror on the Lake Haunted House was a HUGE success and spooked many of our residents. Our Annual Pumpkin Patch Farmer's Market drew a very large turnout including over 30 local merchants. our Annual Halloween Party entertained over 100 of our residents and remains one of our most popular yearly events.

Resident Casino Outing a Huge Success
On September 18, 2011 approximately 45 residents of Cagan Crossings journeyed to the Victory Cruise Casino Ship in Cocoa . Everyone had a great time. There was great food (sit down buffet) and a live band with dancing.
South Lake Art League to Host Numerous Summer Programs for Children

Kids Creative Writing and Illustrating Experience
Create your own life story book! In this 4 week series, kids ages 6 to 10 will compose and illustrate their book, discuss the book and participate in a video of their experience which will be shown on the Cagan Crossings Cable Channel! James Owner of www.LittleStarNetwork,com and author the kid's book "Why Am I?" will be leading this workshop. Studio fee $90

Cagan Crossings Holds 2nd Annual Winter Celebration
On December 15th, Cagan Crossings held it's 2nd annual Winter Celebration in conjunction with the weekly Farmer's Market. More than 38 vendors participated selling fresh produce, hand made candles, handmade soaps and lotions, local honey, and handmade jewelry. Visitors enjoyed a Holiday Train Ride, Stilt Walking Elves, Bounce House, a Live DJ/MC, Dance Performances from the Sawgrass Bay 4th Grade Dance Team, and Carollers from the Celebration of Praise Church., as well as a Special Appearance from Santa and Mrs. Claus, direct from the North Pole! Holiday Shop Open in Town Center
South Lake Art League, located in the Town Center at Cagan Crossings is pleased to announce the opening of their Holiday Shop. Over 20 artists have contributed their items for sale in the shop, which is open 7 days a week through Christmas. From jewelry to watercolors, and everything in between, stop by to pick out a unique holiday gift and watch various artisans working at their craft.

On October 27th, Cagan Crossings held it's 2nd annual Pumpkin Patch in conjunction with the weekly Farmer's Market. More than 38 vendors participated selling fresh produce, hand made candles, handmade soaps and lotions, local honey, and handmade jewelry. Visitors enjoyed food from Gator Country BBQ as well as vendors selling roasted nuts and Italian ices. In addition, kids enjoyed a Bounce House, Face Painter, Balloon Twister and a costume Contest.
